His major accomplishment was to sale across the black sea to conquer parts of Europe. One of the first more notable rulers after Othman was Murat I. He handed down succession after his death. Othman expanded his empire by conquering smaller weaker emirates or just outright buying them. Within these emirates the most powerful of them all gave rise to Othman whose ancestors would go on to expand his empire into the largest seen to date. As some of these knights pushed west they claimed lands large enough to call states or emirates. These knights would push westward into Christian territories looking to complete acts of valor. Futuwwah was a practice that was much like the knights Templar from Europe, they practiced valor, chivalry, and courtship. The Sufi ideals which gave rise is known as Ghazi, this is also known as “warrior saint”, this was a sufi group that popped from sufi brotherhoods which practiced Futuwwah. The Ottomans would maintain rule of most of this territory from 1300 to 1924 CE. Originating in what is modern day turkey the Ottoman Empire emerged from a divided, Muslim and Christian, territory. The Ottoman Empire rose out of a sufi ideals.
